Curtain woes

I need to hang the curtain in my window. I've been needing to for quite some time but I always forget to bring the drill home and than I put it off until the morning when the sun shines brightly in my eyes and I think to myself "If only I had a %#&* curtain" and then the procrastination starts all over.
But today, TODAY will be the day it gets hung!

Yesterday I went into the shop to finish up the amazing bag from my last post. I picked out my liner leather, got out my ruler and exacto and..... proceeded to slice a chunk of my fingertip off. YYEEOOUUCCH!

So..... that's the way you want to play, huh, bag?

You just wait.

Patchwork as promised

I'm finally done piecing it together! Hooray!
Now I just need to finish out the lining and handles...


The whole thing is made out of little scraps I had scattered about - I've labeled some of the more interesting ones in this photo:

New Treasury!

And I'm working on a new leather bag made almost entirely out of small scrap leathers!
After vast cleaning and organizing efforts we've become overwhelmed by all those little bits of leather that "might come in handy" some day.
I have most of the triangles cut out for this giant patchwork project and as it stands now, it's either going to be incredibly hideous or incredibly beautiful. I'll try to get some pictures up as soon as I sew them together.

Pier Fun

As I was walking along the side of the Juno pier the other day I looked down and was excited to see several large spotted (leopard) rays diving to and fro. It was a beautiful sight! Unfortunately I had left my camera at home and my cell phone camera couldn't capture a nice shot through the water.

When I walked by later I saw the rays again, in the very clear water swimming just a few feet away from swimmers close to shore. It was like a ballet the way everyone swam circles around each other, without ever touching.

And it did remind me to go walking on the pier to check out what's in the water before I go swimming next time.

Treasury Fantastic!

Meat Necklace

Hooray for Meat!

I made myself a meaty necklace yesterday! Basically I laminated some old cookbook images and strung them together. What's your opinion? Should I make more? I could use other food, if the meatiness is too overwhelming for you.
Well? Is it meaty and great? Should I list them?

I love making beads, but I haven't had much extra time to spare until recently. Even now, I'm slowly getting them listed .

I bring you sharks because of the good news that my little sister is going to China! For free!
She is such an impressive little entrepreneur, (she's a fishing instructor) that someone has invited her and my father to some kind of fishing seminar in China. (sounds boring, I know)
They'll only be there for two or three days but I'm jealous and proud at the same time.
