*gasp*

Well, as luck would have it, one of my co-workers at the night job asked if I wanted to switch for a morning shift and I said, "Sure thing!" because I rarely make any money on a Friday night. Mostly because I feed on the tip share and they throw a couple extra bodies on for the weekends, meaning less money for me.
And I'll have the evening to relax, for once, on a Friday.
Really, I need to get some work listed this morning, but instead I goofed off in the etsy forums.
So here's one of my new coin purses that i will be putting up this afternoon:

a purple, brown, and fabric striped purse with zipper closure and fabric lining!I'm naming it the Connie Bag since my mother said, "Oh, is that for me?" after I made it.

New Purses

I've been trying to come up with a design for a lined purse and made a cute little clutch number.
This salmon-colored one was the first:My next attempt was a little more extravagant. I thought it'd be a great idea to make one out of a bunch of fish hides sewn together in a colorful pattern.
So..... that's what I did. I think it looks a bit weird, but everyone keeps telling me it's cute.
Next I made this little guy, who I think is wonderful. A gold / green shiny leather paired with soft blue.
And those are my new bags! What do you think?

New Stuff and Goodies

I could go into the shop today. But I'll be stuck on the counter helping customers locate their repair work instead of creating fascinating new goodies. Not my idea of a good time. I'll probably have to go in anyways.
Darn. Here's a sweet new change purse I made the other day - exotic sueded fish hide with a bright pink leather!

Another New bag

I really like this one and I'm having a hard time getting the colors to show up right. Our weather hasn't been cooperating the past few days. The center strip is some vintage fabric paired with green and brown leather.
Hopefully I'll have it listed in just a few minutes....

It's a brand new bag

A brand new bag that I can't show you because I forgot to take pictures of it.
Yesterday my amazing friend Naomi (aka - Bicycleocean) and I went on a sewing adventure to make her a new messenger-type bag. We both absolutely suck at following patterns and directions so the most we could hope for was sheer willpower to push us through the task at hand, And it worked! By the end of the day she had a really awesome purse that would rock your socks. But you'll have to take my word for it.

While she worked on her bag I found a new obsession with bugs:

My mother found a bunch of my old stamps that I had as a kid, including a bunch of creepy-crawlies! I love the seemingly screen-printed appearance it gives.

It's raining coin purses

I've tons of little change pouches that I haven't listed just yet. Partly because of other online distractions and work, and partly because of indecisiveness about which online venue to list them on. Coriandr? 1000Markets? Etsy?

Here's the latest one I've listed:
It's another in a line of laminate & leather goodies. I have one more laminated pouch with flamingos! Coming soon! (you'll see......)

Fancy New Bags

Allen and I each made a bag yesterday and I'm so proud I need to show them off:
Allen's is a soft green leather bag in the style of a miniature messenger. He hand-tooled a celtic loop design and hand-sewn it to the front flap.
Mine is a small wristlet with black pebbled (faux stingray) texture and a drippy flap of blue kidskin. I added two diamond embellishments.

Awesome! Now I just need to get them listed.....

Patchwork as promised

I'm finally done piecing it together! Hooray!
Now I just need to finish out the lining and handles...

The whole thing is made out of little scraps I had scattered about - I've labeled some of the more interesting ones in this photo:

More Buddy Love

I love making these little Buddy bags! They're incredibly cute and durable!
Right now I have these 5 plus two brown ones and a genuine ostrich that aren't shown. I really need to get some other work done (for real) but I can't stop making these bags. Help me, please. Buy one now to validate my obsession!

Buddy Bags are good for you

So you thought you could go the rest of your life without touching one of these? What were you thinking? Go to: Etrelles
I've been making these little buggers for quite some time and I adore them. The leather is incredibly soft and I usually add something that makes it completely unique like an exotic strip or circle or some laminated ephemera sewn in. They're incredibly handy, too. I usually don't prefer a wristlet over a purse, but my Buddy Bag was very useful at work.

I don't know if I'd ever like to mass-produce a particular Buddy; the notion of each one being an individual appeals to me a little bit more. As well as the fact that I get bored very easily.
