Fancy New Bag

I made a cute little bag yesterday out of silk fabric and leather. I'm in love.

I should make some more in this style. Or a different style.

It's a brand new bag

A brand new bag that I can't show you because I forgot to take pictures of it.
Yesterday my amazing friend Naomi (aka - Bicycleocean) and I went on a sewing adventure to make her a new messenger-type bag. We both absolutely suck at following patterns and directions so the most we could hope for was sheer willpower to push us through the task at hand, And it worked! By the end of the day she had a really awesome purse that would rock your socks. But you'll have to take my word for it.

While she worked on her bag I found a new obsession with bugs:

My mother found a bunch of my old stamps that I had as a kid, including a bunch of creepy-crawlies! I love the seemingly screen-printed appearance it gives.

Fancy New Bags

Allen and I each made a bag yesterday and I'm so proud I need to show them off:

Allen's is a soft green leather bag in the style of a miniature messenger. He hand-tooled a celtic loop design and hand-sewn it to the front flap.
Mine is a small wristlet with black pebbled (faux stingray) texture and a drippy flap of blue kidskin. I added two diamond embellishments.

Awesome! Now I just need to get them listed.....

Junk World Buddy

I suppose that's an artist trait. But I really like this bag! It's a simple pattern but extremely comfortable!

Bikes and Leather Mixed Together

I've been doing a lot of creating and not a lot of blogging. Allen made this bicycle seat for the Freak Bike Rides and I'm just now getting around to showing it off:

He tooled the leather and sewed it into some oiled leather and stapled the whole thing to the bike seat. I think it looks freakin awesome!
I also made this new pink Buddy Bag mini. It's an embossed leather with seashells and seahorses and starfish - combined with an exotic pink on the front and back.

Fish Bags

Today, before I go to see the Roller Derby game, I'm reminiscing about my fish bags. I had them listed on Etsy and they didn't sell but I thought they were adorable. Then one week they both sold out of our B&M store, within a day of each other. Weird, huh? So, here they are:So what do you think? Do you love them? Not love them? Wish they were in a different color?

Time for listing

I have some new things! (Finally!)This cute little cuff is one of my spliced beauties. They're very simple; no pesky sewing or gluing involved. Yet very stylish!

AND I sold this awesome Buddy Bag! I really need to make more, but I haven't had a chance just yet. I really wish I had a good way to illustrate their awesomeness online. I'd like to make some more larger Buddy Bags as well. Right now I only have two listed in my shop.
I took the third large Buddy: He's all mine! MINE MINE MINE!! BWAH-HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Oh,.... sorry. I don't know where that came from. But seriously, everyone at the night job has been pawing over him like a newborn, so I may have to make another....

Want to see my big Buddy Bag? I made this some time ago and listed it, but my pictures were never that great so when the listing expired I never re-listed. But yesterday I managed to find the time to snap a few quick photos:AND I got my new labels yesterday!! I ordered them from MommieMadeIt on Etsy! I love them! And they're going to be perfect to sew into the mid sole for sandals, adding to my bags, even sewing into my cuff bracelets! She designed them and everything! Check out her store!

New Things to Like and Love

I have a new Buddy Bag! Manatee! How cool is that? It's a deep wedgewood blue with a deep blue leather inside and magnetic snap closure. Wicked fun.

I don't know if I'll be able to get into the shop today, so I may have a big day ahead of me tomorrow. Loads of sandals and cuffs and two bags await my presence still...Back to my birthday desires! Another of my favorite sellers is CircaCeramics!
Being a coffee lover I could have a zillion mugs. I won't, and I probably have too many as it is, but a beautiful cup will still make me drool with desire. CircaCeramics also sells magnets, bowls, vases, tea cups and more! I mean, c'mon. You know you need one of these awesome cylinders! (I know I do!)

Featured Etsy Find

Every once in a while I find an Etsy store that literally makes my jaw drop.
I found a store called sacaclaques the other day. They have the coolest handbags! Really, I should just use tons of pictures to illustrate the coolness, since the photos speak volumes.Aren't they amazing! They're constructed out of wood slats and leather for lining and handles. I'm totally in love with this olive one. Tara Appreciation Day is coming soon, people! Pay attention!!
Scrolling through Etsy listings is becoming a potentially expensive habit to have....

More Buddy Love

I love making these little Buddy bags! They're incredibly cute and durable!
Right now I have these 5 plus two brown ones and a genuine ostrich that aren't shown. I really need to get some other work done (for real) but I can't stop making these bags. Help me, please. Buy one now to validate my obsession!

Lamination Station

Woo-Hoo! I am now the proud owner of a laminating machine! I used to have to go to my shipping provider and pay $2.75 for each page but now that Leslie is closing up shop at Pack & Ship she's selling her lamination goodies to me!!! I've already begun to go overboard - Check out my new Buddy bag! And my new meaty trio of Cuffs!

I've been making these little buggers for quite some time and I adore them. The leather is incredibly soft and I usually add something that makes it completely unique like an exotic strip or circle or some laminated ephemera sewn in. They're incredibly handy, too. I usually don't prefer a wristlet over a purse, but my Buddy Bag was very useful at work.

I don't know if I'd ever like to mass-produce a particular Buddy; the notion of each one being an individual appeals to me a little bit more. As well as the fact that I get bored very easily.
